ZIMBABWE WOMEN ARRIVE IN THAILAND FOR 3 ODIS AND 4 T20iS.

 

 

Thailand Women will be facing Zimbabwe Women in bilateral ODI and T20I series over the next two weeks.

These should be two entertaining series between two evenly matched teams with the three-match ODI series starting on 19th April and the teams switch to 20-over cricket for four matches from 25th April. All matches will be played at TCG with a start time of 9.00 am.

The two teams have played against each other regularly in the last year and a half. Thailand toured Zimbabwe in August 2021 and shared the ODI series with 2 wins apiece and Thailand won the T20I series by two matches to one..

Thailand returned to Zimbabwe in November for the 50-over World Cup Qualifier and took the honours by beating Zimbabwe by 8 runs.

Zimbabwe beat Thailand in a T20I quadrangular in Dubai and then again in the T20I World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi. Both teams lost in the semi-finals and Zimbabwe beat Thailand in the third place play-off.

Both countries are outside the 50-over Women’s Championship and didn’t qualify for the last T20I World Cup so these are important matches as they look to build up their 50-over and T20I ICC rankings.

The 50-over match at TCG on 19th April will be the inaugural ODI between the two countries.
