Thailand Women’s cricket team played their first match in international cricket since they suffered heartbreak when their attempt to qualify for the 50-ovet World Cup was cut short following the Omnicron outbreak last December.
They were playing their first match in a T20I quadrangular series in Dubai and defeated UAE by 5 wickets at the ICC Academy Ground.
Thailand were able to restrict the home side to 105 for 9 in 20 overs as Chanida Sutthiruang and Phannita Maya took two wickets apiece and Kavishka Kumari top scored on 35*.
Nattakan Chantam saw her side home to victory with an unbeaten 49 from 45 balls with 7 boundaries. She shared an opening stand of 42 with Nannapat Khoncharoekhai and then Chainda hit four fours in her 19.
UAE may have beaten Thailand in the U19 World Cup qualifier but the senior team got their revenge in this warm-up tournament for the next T20 World Cup Qualifier.
