THAI GIRLS ON COURSE FOR GOLD
August 25, 2017
It is a historic day for cricket in Thailand as the Land Of Smiles won its first ever medal for cricket at the SEA Games. The #Thaimens were presented with their bronze medals as they finished behind Malaysia and Singapore in the men's 50 over competition.

Thailand's men may have lost to a higher-ranked Singapore team by 63 runs but they could still be proud that they had won the country's first ever medal for cricket at the SEA Games. Vichanath Singh impressed with the ball but a target of 188 proved out of reach.
There were mixed fortunes for the Thailand teams at the SEA Games as the women started their campaign with a comprehensive victory over Indonesia but the men lost to Singapore by 63 runs. The girls look to have a good chance to win gold and they were far too good for Indonesia as Sirintra Saengsakaorat hit her highest score in international cricket. The men's team were on top in their match against Singapore as Vichanath Singh bowled superbly to take three wickets but a target of 188 proved out of reach as the Thai boys were bowled out for 124. Thailand had to be satisfied with the bronze medal as Malaysia and Singapore will compete for gold.
