Thailand Women made it four wins out of four in the ODI series against Netherlands Women at Royal Chiang Mai at they bowled out the visitors for 145 and chased down the runs in just 26.1 overs with three wickets down to win by seven wickets with plenty of time to spare. Natthakan Chantham hit 68 but she was outdone as player of the match by leg-spinner Nanthita Boonsukham who had earlier taken 4 for 26 on her ODI debut. Natthakan Chantham richly deserved the player of the tournament award as she hit 267 runs in Thailand’s first series with a century and two fifties.
Netherlands won the toss and chose to bat first and again they made a good start as opener Babetter de Leede again made runs and shared partnerships with Sterre Kalis and Robine Rijke as they reached 76 for 1 in the 18th over. de Leede passed her fifty before being dismissed for 59 from 75 balls with 7 fours but the wickets had been falling at the other end as the Thailand spinners again restricted the Netherlands middle-order.
Nanthitha Boonsukham made the most of her opportunity and finished the innings off in 42.5 overs with her four wickets on debut and Thailand made short work of their target of 146 as Natthakan Chantham was again in fine form at the top of the order. Sornnarin Tippoch was out for a duck as she was lbw to Iris Zwilling but this gave an early chance to another debutante  Banthita Leephatana who hit 28 with 3 fours and she shared a second-wicket stand of 86 with Chantham.
Chantham made her second fifty of the series to go with her century on debut and hit nine fours and two sixes in her 68 from 74 balls. Nannapat Khoncharoenkai made an unbeaten 30 from 22 balls with 6 fours and captain Naruemol Chaiwai was there at the end as Thailand won by seven wickets in an early finish to leave plenty of time for the home team to celebrate their memorable 4-0 series win.
Thailand had won their inaugural ODI bilateral series convincingly and they will be looking to perform as well in the four match T20I series which starts on Tuesday 29th November on the same ground.
