After an anxious wait as rain washed out the three morning matches, all went well for Thailand Women who beat Hong Kong by 43′ runs to top Group B of the Asia Qualifier in Malaysia

Nannapat Khoncharoenkai hit a career best 75 from 58 balls after Thailand had made a slow start against the new ball. She made up for that by hitting 11 fours and adding 52 from 5.1 overs with Chanida Sutthiruang.

Thailand scored 121 for 4 in 20 overs and Hong Kong were soon in trouble as Chanida got an early wicket and Nattaya Boochatham took two more to reduce Hong Kong to 24 for 3.

Nattaya claimed two more wickets in her final over to give her 14 wickets for 19 runs in the group stages as Hong Kong finished on 78 for 9.

UAE face Hong Kong and Thailand play Nepal in the semi-finals with the two winners qualifying for the global World Cup Qualifier.
