The Thailand team’s tour to Singapore has come to an end after a spell of almost three weeks. The trip started when they took part in the ACC Challenger Cup in which they finished third and concluded with the Asia Pacific Cricket Champions Trophy in which they reached the final.

This four-team T20I competition also involved Singapore, Indonesia and Uzbekistan but Thailand’s first match against Indonesia was washed out.

Thailand then found Singapore Very tough opposition as they lost by 88 runs on the same day Indonesia had beaten Uzbekistan by 118 runs.

Thailand had a big margin to make up in their net run-rate but they responded brilliantly as they dismissed Uzbekistan for 37 and won in just 3.4 overs.

Indonesia still had an advantage in the table but Singapore scored 258 for 3 to win by 123 runs

Thailand had managed to reach the final and chose to bat first against Singapore. They were bowled out for 73 but reduced Singapore to 44 for 4 inside eight overs.

Thailand lost by six wickets but the two floodlit matches they played against a powerful Singapore side will help them as they take part in future completions

Malaysia and Singapore are still a level above Thailand but Austin Lazarus’s team had competed strongly against the other opposition they faced on their stay in Singapore.
