THAILAND REACH SEMI-FINALS OF ACC MEN’S CHALLENGER CUP IN SINGAPORE
June 17, 2026
Thailand were outclassed by Malaysia in the semi-finals of the ACC Challenger Cup as they lost a match reduced to 31 overs by 218 runs.
Thailand won the toss and put Malaysia into bat but they got off to a flier with an opening stand of 94 in the first eight overs.
Nazmus Sakib top scored with 57 from just 25 balls and the runs kept flowing throughout the innings.
At least Thailand’s bowlers picked up nine wickets but Malaysia raced to 291 in 31 overs as their batsmen have plenty of experience in short form cricket.
Thailand struggled with the bat from the start and were bowled out for 73 in 19.5 overs to end a disappointing day.
Singapore beat Indonesia by six wickets in the other semi-final so Malaysia will meet their local rivals in the final.
Malaysia and Singapore are the strongest sides in the tournament but Thailand will have another chance to impress in the third place play-off against Indonesia.
