Thailand and Japan had both achieved three victories in Group A of the ACC Women’s Premier Cub so today’s winners would top the group.

Thailand won by 42 runs after a highly competitive encounter against improving Japan.

Thailand’s batters got some much needed time in the middle as they reached 126 for 6 as Nannapat Khoncharoenkai made an unbeaten 47.

Thipatcha Putthawong is not worried by the pressures of captaincy as she finished off Japan for 84 with figures of 3 for 6.

Thailand will face Nepal in the quarter-finals while Japan play Hong Kong, China.
