INDIA A WIN THE DP WORLD ASIA CUP RISING STARS WOMEN’S 2026 IN BANGKOK

The DP World Asia Cup Rising Stars Women’s 2026 at TCG in Bangkok today saw India A face Bangladesh A in what proved to be a gripping final even though India A eventually prevailed by the comfortable margin of 46 runs.

Bangladesh A nonetheless proved sturdy opposition throughout the tournament as they had won all three of their group matches when India A had lost to UAE in the group stages before both teams had won their semi-finals with considerable ease to set up a classic final.

India A won the toss and chose to bat first as they wanted to put a sizeable total on the board to put Bangladesh A under pressure for the first time in the tournament.

The India A openers set off confidently with Vrinda Dinesh again striking the ball cleanly that enabled her to take her total of boundary fours in the tournament to 36 which was a very high proportion of her runs. She was the first wicket to fall for 19 and Bangladesh proceeded to pick up four wickets in 18 balls so India A were in some trouble at 44 for 4.

India A’s batting line up is stronger in depth than any other team in the tournament and so they did not panic when captain Radha Yadav joined Tejal Hasabnis and the pair rebuilt the innings with a fifth-wicket partnership of 69.

Although Radha Yadav was out for 36 from 30 balls she had helped Hasabris stabalize the innings so that they managed to score another 82 runs in the last ten overs even though Bangladesh A captain Fatima Khatun returned excellent figures of 4 for 25.

Tejal Hasabris played a brilliant innings as she reached her fifty from just 33 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes as India A posted a useful total of 134 for 8 after it had looked like they may have struggled to reach the 100-mark.

Bangladesh A would now have to bat at their absolute best to challenge India A’s total and they made a positive start but the Indian spinners all bowled accurately and the Bangladeshi batters could not break free. Leg-spinner Prema Rawat returned the outstanding figures of 3 for 12 and she was backed up by Radha Yadav’s left-arm spin who took 1 for 16.

Another left-arm spinner Tanuja Kanwer took the last wicket to a catch on the boundary and the India A celebrations could begin as they gained victory by 46 runs to win the DP World Asia Cup Rising Stars Women’s 2026.

Tejal Hasabnis was named player of the match for her outstanding half-century and UAE’s Esha Oza was given the player of the tournament award for her wonderful innings of 72* against India A which she followed with 125 against Nepal which showed how much quality there is now in women’s Associate cricket.

Today’s two captains could also be proud of their efforts as Radha Yadav and Fahima Khatun led their sides brilliantly and each claimed 10 wickets as well as scoring crucial runs.

Women’s cricket had again taken centre stage and the players from both of today’s teams are genuine Rising Stars.
