Nepal and Indonesia continued their impressive starts in the Thailand Women’s T20 Smash as both teams made it three wins out of three. The contest between Nepal and UAE in Group A was the match of the tournament so far as two unbeaten teams faced each other. UAE, so dominant the day before against China, posted a useful total of 105 for 6 in their 20 overs but Nepal’s openers added 61 in 11 overs with Sita Rana Maga scoring 37 from 35 balls. Nepal won by six wickets as they reached their target with an over to spare.

Nepal are now top of Group A and Indonesia head Group B thanks to their victory by 50 runs over Bhutan. Indonesia’s openers shared a stand of 65 as they scored 104 for 4 and Bhutan were bowled out for 54 as Andriani Andriani took 4 for 15.

There were contrasting fortunes for the two Thai sides as Thailand A were beaten by 34 runs by Malaysia but the full Thailand team beat Hong Kong convincingly by 65 runs as they scored 107 for 4 and dismissed Hong Kong for 42. Thailand’s openers, Nattakan Chantam and Naruemol Chaiwai looked good in a stand of 81 before Nattaya Boochatham claimed 4 wickets for 4 runs to give their side their second win in two matches. Thailand now know they may well face some serious opposition in this competition.
